Main Task: Audience Research

I am conducting some audience Research this is so that I can find out from my potential readers how they may want my magazine to look like and allowing me to obtain a certain feel my audience want from my magazine. I am going to me targeting my magazine at the "Young generation" I can conduct that my magazine is likely to target Teenage Males and Men and making them more likely to buy the magazine this is why I ended up asking more males than females. However, I do think that the older generation and women will buy it and this could be because of things like competitions and freebies.

These are the questions I asked to my potential target audience as these were the areas that I was looking for answers In to help with the development of my Front Page, Contents Page & Double Page spread (The Main Tasks)

The data that I collected allowed me to get a notion of the kind of artists I should Include in my magazine from Drake to Frank Ocean and even to Wiz Khalifa. Some of these artist I may feature on my magazine giving the target audience what they want allowing my magazine to me successful amongst my chosen target audience.

My market audience also allowed me me to gain and understand  that the majority of my target audience like Hip-Hop because of this I am considering of creating a Hip-Hop based music magazine for my main task. This is good for me as like explained in my introduction I myself am a Hip Hop fan.

As of colour I learned that from the research the colour combo of black & red came up quite a bit, because of this I am also going to consider this. Knowing that my target audience prefer these colours the best is pushing me use the colours the more but If I am going to do this I will add maybe one or two more colours to add flavour to the feel of the magazine.

 The next thing that I discussed with the target audience was the fonts there was mixed feelings about this some wanted ones that stood out such as 'Impact'(sans-serif) and others wanted joined up writing (serif) this allows me to uses a mix and match in magazine so it can appeal to both.

Conducting this Market Research gave me a good Idea of what my target audience wants, this is going to make it easier for me to create FP/CP/DPS- FInals more easily as I have done the research allowing me to start faster and be more efficiently an the pages. Knowing this information has given a rough idea of what my magazine would look like allowing me to know what to draw in my mock-ups.
